In the last few months, we have been assembling all that is required to apply for full educational accreditation for our on-site school. As many of you know, we stepped away from public school education for our boys almost 20 years ago. In 2022, we built a custom-designed school building to provide a comprehensive educational experience for our kids, but now it is time to go to the next level.
Youth-Reach Houston is dedicated to providing high-quality educational experiences that foster academic, personal and spiritual growth for the young men we serve. The goal is to prepare them for higher education along with the demands of future employment. After many conversations with educators in the private Christian school realm, the decision was made to apply for accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
ACSI offers an accreditation process designed to strengthen the mission, vision, and operational excellence of Christian educational institutions. They have been amazing to work with as they help us improve our already comprehensive education program. It came as no surprise that many of their requirements are already part of our standard procedures, so we may be able to reach full accreditation in just a few months.
Along with the leadership of our board, we want to recognize the hard work of Jarod Dyess, our Education Coordinator, and the assistance of Dr. Charles Redmond and Dr. Robert White at First Baptist Pasadena. We will keep you updated on the progress of this effort.
