MINISTRY & PURPOSE
Since 1984, Youth-Reach Houston has operated a full-service, Christ-centered residential program in northeast Houston designed to remold the values and turn around the lives of at-risk, troubled and delinquent boys ages 12 to 17.
The program was founded by Executive Director Curt Williams, who describes Youth-Reach as “a hospital for today’s damaged and discarded youth.” Set in a structure of a balanced family and home life, the goals of the program are to develop character, responsibility and a strong work ethic; heal past wounds; and restore families. Facilitated by screened, experienced and respected staff members, we are licensed by the Texas Department of Health & Human Services to operate a Group Residential Operation for juvenile males. As a a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a member of The Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability (ECFA), we adhere to strict financial accounting guidelines.
MEET OUR STAFF
For us to be in continuous, uninterrupted, 24-hour operation since November of 1984, it has required the incredible provision of the Lord, the generosity of our supporters, and the astounding sacrifice of our dedicated staff. They are a committed, diverse, hard-working, and sacred group of Believers who feel honored to share their lives with the kids who the Lord continually brings to our doors. All staff live on-site with our residents.
As Founder and Executive Director, Curt Williams splits his time between Youth-Reach Houston and Youth-Reach Gulf Coast located in Summerdale, Alabama. He still carries the same passion for troubled kids that drove him back to the streets in 1984.
Xavier Bright is a committed husband, father, and follower of Christ with strong leadership skills. A part of the Youth-Reach team for several years, his past responsibilities have included overseeing residential logistics, communications, organization and supervision. He has also served with our on-site school in discipleship development.
Though Judah Williams has the title of Operations Coordinator, he also serves as an assigned Counselor for individual boys in the Youth-Reach program. He is a past intern and, as the son of founder Curt Williams, has lived on-site since he was born.
Jarod Dyess joined the Youth-Reach Houston team in February of 2015 and oversees finances and office management along with serving as a resident counselor devoting Fridays to working with the boys.
Nick came to us from Texarkana. He brings a passion for Jesus, along with a calling to create lasting disciples. Nick is a sincere students of God’s word with fresh energy and a readiness to learn and contribute.
Santiago “Jimmy” Garcia first came to Youth-Reach Houston in July 2003 and has served as a counselor, our Operations Coordinator, and most recently, our Director.
