Our 5 Defining Characteristics

What Makes Youth-Reach Different?

At Youth-Reach Houston, we believe every young man deserves the opportunity to discover his God-given purpose and build a future filled with hope.

Our approach goes beyond addressing immediate challenges. Through a Christ-centered environment, long-term residential care and practical discipleship, we come alongside young men and their families to help build a foundation for lasting transformation.

These five defining characteristics reflect who we are, what we believe and the commitments that guide everything we do.

Be Part of a Life Transformed.

Every young man deserves a chance at a new beginning. Whether you’re seeking help for a young man or looking for a meaningful way to make a difference, there’s a place for you in the Youth-Reach family.

What Makes Us Unique

Our 5 Defining Characteristics

  • CHRIST-CENTERED

First and foremost, we are a Christ-centered ministry. We are far from religious, but we know that a simple yet profound relationship with Jesus Christ can transform a very damaged life. We are unapologetic in our effort to lead hurting and delinquent young men to the Lord and develop lifelong disciples.

  • FREE OF CHARGE

One of the most amazing things about Youth-Reach is that we offer all of our comprehensive services at no charge. We will not call what we do ministry and then send a bill to parents, the state or an insurance company. We are the arm of Christ’s Church that cares for hurting kids in a full-service residential program. All funding comes from our donors.

  • LONG-TERM

We are a long-term solution for desperate kids and troubled families. We have no state-mandated length-of-stay limitations, and a young person can stay at Youth-Reach for a few months or several years. Thirteen-year-olds can make this their home and stay until college. Truly homeless kids are welcomed into the home and can stay as long as they are making progress and remain teachable.

  • CARE FOR BOTH JUVENILE BOYS AND YOUNG MEN

We are licensed to work with boys from the age of 12 to young men up to age 18 in Houston. We also care for young men ages 17 to 21 at our 81-acre facility near Foley, Alabama. This is a wide range, but it allows us the opportunity to work with an age group that has been targeted for destruction and is very much in need of our services.

  • OPERATING WITH INTEGRITY

We are legitimate in every way. We are licensed with the State of Texas Department of Human Resources to operate a Group Residential Operation. Our facilities meet or exceed all health, building and fire codes. We are a member of the North Channel Area Chamber of Commerce and an accredited member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) since 2000. We hold valid 501(c)3 status as a not-for-profit organization and undergo an annual independent compilation. Our Form 990 is available upon request.
