The Trek Through the Valley

It was quite an amazing testimony that through the pandemic and the ensuing season of financial stress, our needs here at Youth-Reach were generously met. We have witnessed the Father’s miraculous provision through storms (literal and figurative), hardships, recessions and transitions, and we have no doubt that He will once again find a way to provide. He most often does this by moving on His children; those whom He has blessed to be a blessing and those whom He has set up in advance to be obedient givers.

We have never stooped to manipulation or tactics that would call our integrity into question. We spend much more time and energy focused on the kids entrusted to our care than we do on marketing and fundraising. Yet, when the need is clear, we believe it is fair and right for us to communicate that need.

We are entering the late summer months when donations typically decrease while our expenses increase. It often feels like an annual trek through a challenging valley. Inflation has not been kind to Youth-Reach, as I know it has not been kind to your family. We have made a comprehensive effort to cut costs, even cutting back on the number of people who will be receiving our newsletter in print form, to save every dollar possible. We approach spending the money you provide with a frugal and sober mind.

So this is simply our way of communicating that we are facing a growing need, and the donations are not meeting that need. We are about to take in several more boys, and we refuse to reject kids in need because of something as simple to God as finances. So if you will remember us over the next few months, both in prayer and in your giving, we will be deeply thankful.
