Due to COVID, we were not able to host our annual Open House last year, so we were really looking forward to the opportunity to welcome all our friends and supporters to our campus this year.
We were blessed by a wonderful crowd of people who love our work, and were honored with the chance to meet some new folks who have never visited Youth-Reach.
The highlight of the day was at noon when we all walked over to the new education building to have a few moments of reflection, gratitude and recognition of all those who gave toward making this facility a reality. We were excited and honored to have the family of Charles Cowles present as the building was dedicated in his memory. Larry Bates, a board member of Youth-Reach Houston, opened this time in prayer, and then Curt Williams shared about his thirty-year friendship with Charles and the impact that he had as a member of our Board of Directors. Then Charles’ pastor and friend, Dr. Charles Redmond (Senior Pastor of First Baptist Pasadena) shared a testimony of the impact of the life he lived and the legacy that Charles left for those he loved. Dr. Redmond then led us in a prayer, dedicating the new Dr. Charles E. Cowles, Jr. Education Center to our Lord Jesus and in honor of our friend and fellow laborer whom we miss dearly.
All of us here at Youth-Reach are deeply grateful for all of you who came out on such a beautiful day to share in the ongoing victories we see here on our campus. We will certainly be planning an Open House for 2022 and we hope you will plan to come out then to see the home where miracles happen.
