Though all of our boys attend school right here on our campus, we do like to take a pause and give them a really great Spring Break experience. It was a busy week that included a manic scavenger hunt in downtown Houston, dinner and a movie, an afternoon at a paintball course, a trip to the Kemah Boardwalk, and a day at the beach on Galveston Island.
Oh don’t get us wrong, we also mixed in some mowing, trimming, raking, cleaning and fertilizing just to keep the time productive, but the week was all about having fun. As with all we do, the events were made to be a bit more enjoyable with a few more perks for the boys who have worked hard to advance in our program.
We reward progress and ambition, and the guys who are lagging behind or who recently entered Youth-Reach were able to witness the tangible results of consistency and initiative.
If you read my last blog post, “Train Up a Child,” we don’t give a puppy that wets the rug a treat, but when he goes outside to do his business, we are all about the treat.
