In just the span of a few weeks, Davis, a resident from Alabama, has marked three milestones in his short life.
First, he completed all of his course work and graduated from our on-site school, after which we threw him an awesome graduation party. His family flew into Houston for the occasion and it was great to see them again. Shortly after graduation, Davis began classes at San Jacinto college to work towards a degree in Instrumentation Technology.
Then, Davis was baptized in the pond here at Youth-Reach by our Operations Coordinator, Xavier Bright, to celebrate surrendering his life to the Lord Jesus.
And to top off a pretty eventful season, Davis turned 18 on August 16. All the staff and families of Youth-Reach enjoyed cake, games and ice cream to mark his big day!
In the Gospels, we often read about Jesus attending a party, a wedding, a feast or a festival. Jesus loved celebrations, and we know that He is now planning one for us that will astound us and leave us breathless. We are happy to be warming up for that occasion by celebrating wonderful occasions and benchmarks in the lives of our boys. It just rarely happens to all fall into a couple of weeks for one individual young man.
