For almost two years Youth-Reach Houston has been understaffed. What does this mean? It means that we have been one to two men short on our operations staff. This also means that the men currently serving here have been called upon to put in more hours to cover for these vacancies. What was a small issue is now growing into a larger problem, and yet no one on our team wants us to lower the bar and hire someone who does not fit the need.
We will wait for the Lord to bring us seasoned, mature, teachable and called men of God who will love the boys well and will invest their lives to build a future for each boy in our care.
We are not hiring employees, but people who become family and will come into a loving Christian community that just happens to share a passion for troubled and misfit boys.
Enough cannot be said for the men and women who serve here. All Youth-Reach staff members live here on our campus with their families. Housing is provided, along with utilities, a health care plan, and other benefits. It is both a wonderful and a challenging place to serve, but if the Lord has burned this work onto your heart, there is nothing better.
If you know of anyone who might be a fit for Youth-Reach, we would love to speak with them.
